By playing the adventure game ‘Yoomurjak’s Ring’ we can wander around - in a virtual way - in nearly the whole of the historical town center of Eger and other exciting locations, mostly related to the Turkish period or to the turn of the last century, the era in which the author Géza Gárdonyi lived. The locations can be explored by interactive panoramic views while we can communicate directly with the characters, all impersonated by famous Hungarian actors, by interactive video footage. The game is full of riddles and puzzles, connections to be revealed, assignments that we have to work out ourselves, and as a result we will acquire a sense of acting on behalf of the main character himself. It all depends on us how and at what pace the events unfold. After exploring and mapping out the real locations, we are challenged by surprising and unreal situations, which enable us to live through Jonathan Hunt’s adventures. The adventures, which began as innocently as a vacation, then turned into a treasure hunt and became in the end a serious experiment with the aim of saving the world…
